Position title:                Housing Manager – Section 8 Voucher Program

FLSA Status:                   Full-Time, Exempt (Salaried)

Position Summary

The Lincoln Housing Authority is seeking a dynamic and experienced Housing Manager to lead a team that is responsible for all aspects of the Section 8 Voucher Program, which provides housing assistance to over 3,000 households in Lincoln. Other major areas of managerial responsibility include:

  • ·       Initiate and implement agency policies and community relationships that directly impact the health and well-being of the city and its residents.
  • ·       Technical compliance with HUD rules & regulations and agency policies for a variety of HUD Section 8 programs.
  • ·       Manage project-based voucher contracts, initiate and maintain landlord relationships, and ensure policy and income compliance for all tenants participating in Public Housing, Section 8 New Construction, Tax Credit and Moving-to-Work programs.
  • ·       Manages a large team including other supervisors, program coordinators, and support staff.

Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • ·       Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, human services or similar field.
  • ·       Administrative experience working with a multitude of governmental programs.
  • ·       Previous experience working in the affordable housing industry, and knowledge of HUD programs, Section 8, Low-Income Housing, Nebraska Landlord-Tenant Laws, Tax Credit, and the HUD Moving to Work program.
  • ·       Ability to interpret governmental housing directives, compile and analyze statistical data, write policies and procedures, and ensure procedures are implemented.
  • ·       Proven leadership skills and previous experience managing staff.

EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY…HIRING…Maintenance Director: Housing Partners of Western Nebraska (HPWN) is looking for a responsible leader who wants the opportunity to fill some big shoes as the Maintenance Director for all properties managed by HPWN. HPWN manages 162 public housing units throughout Scotts Bluff County, 8 other local properties, and properties in Chappell, Sidney, Gordon, and Hay Springs (approx. 450 units). Maintenance Director must be experienced in all phases of construction or remodeling, read blue prints, work with contractors and insurance companies, managing people, and book/record keeping. Will be responsible for tracking all maintenance purchases and billing according to property, bidding for best products and price, help formulate budgets, developing and maintaining preventive maintenance schedules, going to all board meetings, and managing a maintenance staff of 15 to 25. Physical labor is required also. Maintenance Director works directly with Executive Director and must be able to work closely with all office staff. Must be willing to travel and be available at odd hours. Looking for a long-term, forward thinking employee. Technology savvy is a plus. Executive Director Job Opening 

The Housing Authority of the City of Fairbury seeks a qualified leader to manage staff and administer 60 units of Public Housing.  Degree in Business Administration preferred, and/or 5 years of housing or regulatory agency experience required.  The position is responsible to a five member Board of Commissioners.  Must possess or acquire PHM certification within the first two years of employment.  Must have experience with budgets, reports, payroll, maintenance and building operations, public relations personnel management, marketing and computer applications.  The successful applicant will demonstrate clear verbal and written communication skills; effective time management skills; ability to multi-task; initiative; strong leadership skills; and creative thinking for development of future programs.  Must be bondable.  Must have a valid state issued driver’s license.  Background checks including criminal history will be conducted on final candidates.  Position closes Friday, July 23, 2021 at noon.
